Junior or Entry Level Mechatronics Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on junior or entry level Mechatronics Engineer to support the architecture and release of our metal 3D printing machine. The candidate must be able and willing to help design, test, and debug in all areas of the electrical and mechanical design of the system. The candidate must be self-motivated and team-oriented and must be capable of interfacing with internal teams and suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work under the mentorship of senior engineers to complete projects for the company on time, within budget, and according to quality standards
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to design, integrate, test, and debug electro-mechanical systems, sensors, and actuators
  • Work independently to design and implement test fixtures for sensors, actuators, and subsystems
  • Build circuits, cables, brackets, and components as needed
  • Integrate off-the-shelf components and sensors
  • Produce technical documentation including design and performance requirements, test plans, and analysis reports

Education and Experience

  • BS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineer, mechatronics engineering, robotics engineering, or related field
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, motor controllers, and electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience with electronics, soldering, and cable manufacturing
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical CAD design in Solidworks and Solidworks Electrical
  • Experience with classical and modern control theory
  • Experience in subsystem design, integration, and testing
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience with machining a plus
  • Experience with programming a plus
  • Experience with digital and analog signal processing concepts a plus
  • Experience with power electronics a plus
